Get a few quotes

Make sure you get a few quotations to keep your options open just in case the company you choose can’t accommodate your date. Think about getting these quotes done at least a month in advance, even if your moving date is not yet confirmed.

Dismantle & Disconnect

You may want to consider and arrange to disconnect and Dismantle items such as Gas Appliances, Fitted Furniture,  Electrical Appliances, Light Fittings, and Shelves.

Make Space & Prewarn About Awkward Access

On the moving day make sure space is available for the removal vans/truck, work out where all your furniture will go at your new address. If the access may be difficult at your new property for example Narrow road – Small doorways – Spiral Staircases – Gravel driveway – Overhanging trees etc then please let your Removal Company know in advance so they can plan for this.

Moving Checklist

Roughly 4 weeks before removal day

Dispose of any unwanted household items,

Begin to empty the contents of the freezer.

Roughly 2 weeks before removal day

Notify your dentist, doctor, vets etc

Notify your Bank, Insurance companies, Credit cards

Notify your Internet provider telephone company

Notify your TV licence, driving licence, passport company

On the Removal Day

Put together a moving day pack, things to include:

Food and Drink for the day

Children’s toys and Bits

Find and label all keys

All important paperwork

Phone and charger

First night essentials

Any medication
